Mother and her Love

He danced his heart out on the stage for ‘Kick’ Dance show along with his equally wonderful partner. Although they were kids, the performance was no less than a veteran dancer. The entire act was dedicated to all the mothers. It made the judges emotional and they were taking their own time to speak about the performance. They weren’t sure if they will talk about the their relationship with their mothers’ or stick to the performance of the kids. While they were still deciding on what to say, there are tears rolling down from the boy’s eyes. The girl who complemented him during the act also turned emotional. Maybe it bought them memories, memories that cannot be withheld in the mind, memories that bring tears of happiness, memories that make you correct yourself, memories that make you want to go back to childhood.

I am getting late. I have a performance today and you don’t understand only. How many times should I tell you?” the boy yelled in anger at his mother. It was the day of his performance, an act he had to outperform others to survive in the competition. His mother was trying wrap up his favorite food in a box and send it along with him and hence the little delay. “Where are my shoes? You keep on changing its place. You don’t understand anything. Don’t touch my items!” shouted the boy when he was searching for it. His mother promptly gives it to them, and the shoes polished and shining. She had definitely spent quality time to make them look like Brand new. His anger has peaked and is senselessly shouting at his mother for all small things. Before he leaves home with a lunch box with his favorite, a shoes that looks brand new, clothes that look neat and ironed, and some money in his pocket he shouts at his mother, “You never support me for dance. At least today come to the show and be there while I perform and cheer for me” and disappears without even giving time for his mother to react. She looks him walk away and says a prayer in her mind wishing all the good for her son.

His name is called, he comes up on the stage with another girl who is his dance partner. The music begins, and boom they go dancing, giving it everything they have. When the dance is going so well, his eyes meet another eye in the audience. An eye that has cared for him all his life and will continue to do so. The music, the subject of the dance brings in such memories that the boy is getting emotional.

He still continues to dance and you can now feel that the emotions he is portraying on stage are for real. He is no more faking them. It’s like he was suddenly enlightened with something. The performance turns magical, Every member around is able to relate to it.

The host of the show invites the boy’s mother on stage. She has worn the best saree she had on that day, something she bought after saving her hard earned money. A part of her earning was going for her son’s dance classes and the different costumes it demanded. Also for the bus and auto fares for her son’s commute. She walks up on the stage with mixed feelings. She is happy about her son’s performance, shy about being on stage and also tears of happiness, goes to her son, the crowd is expecting her to wave to them and talk to them as it’s her first moment of fame. While the crowd is waiting, she takes the pallu of her most expensive saree, without any second thoughts wipes the tears on her son’s face. The son hugs her tight. For me this defines the word ‘MOTHER’.

Looking at this as an audience, this is how selfless a mother is, dedicating all her life to her kids. Amidst all the opinions and anger the kids express, she will always be there, wishing the very best for them. Giving the best she can in any situation for them.

The host asks the girl, what she thinks about her mother. She said one line, but said everything in that.

We are so small, we can never say enough good things about a Mother.”

Ans you know what buddy, I lost my mom exactly at that point of time, when I wanted to gift her the world for all that she has done for me and this remains my biggest remorse for life.

Such a lovely post! A mother’s love is truly selfless. More importantly, your post also brings out the fact that children don’t often see that, and prompts them to introspect and perhaps be more patient in their dealings with their parents.

No power in this world can take over the amount of love that a mother has for her children. Trust me that is the purest form of love!

    Well penned.

A mother’s love is undoubtedly pure… The ssacrifices made by parents can never be summarized. But I do hope that the mom teaches the boy to control his temper and behave.

This is such a beautiful story,Anil. Only mothers have that capability of selfless love. The boy here felt like me at times. I would get angry at the drop of the hat although she did everything I wanted. But I know how wrong I am and I apologize once I am at the office.
